This workshop will focus on how to address STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) during a creative drama activity with preschoolers. Creative drama activities are one of the developmentally appropriate activities that have positive impact on the improvement of creativity and critical thinking skills as well as communication, social and emotional skills. STEAM is a transdisciplinary and hands-on teaching and learning approach which provides an environment for students to make connections among five disciplines. The disciplines are Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics. In this workshop, we will start with a warm-up to understand how five distinct disciplines can be connected to each other by playing some games. After warming up, each will play the role s/he decided about the disciplines and make improvisation in groups. Then the evaluation part will come and the whole process will be evaluated. All these parts of the creative drama activity will be implemented in relation to Dorothy Heathcote’s Mantle of the Expert Approach.
